International Beauty Legend & ‘La Dolce Vita’ Movie Star ‘Anita Ekberg’ Dies at 83

Anita Ekberg, the famed European actress during the 60s who was once described at the European’s answer to American Marilyn Monroe, both because of her blond and stunning beauty iconic images died last week in Rocca Dipapa, a small town northeast of Rome, according to a report from Time. She is well known for her sensuality and beauty and was a beauty legend of her time during the 60s.

Her most memorable role was in Fedrica Fellini’s 1960 film ‘La Dolce Vita‘ where she danced at Rome’s famous Trevi Fountain. The screen shot at Trevi Fountain has become her most endearing image, just as much as Marilyn Monroe’s famous skirt fluttering by a New York air vent.

Ekberg starred in over 40 movies and won the 1956 Golden Globe award for most promising newcomer. She had starred alongside Legendary Hollywood icons Audrey Hepburn and Henry Fonda.
