Offensive or Freedom of Speech? The First Edition of Charlie Hebdo Magazine After Terror Features A Comical Prophet Mohammed

The newest edition of the Charlie Hebdo magazine published after the deadly terror attacks by Islamist extremist brothers at the offices of the magazine company in Paris last week (click HERE if you missed it), reportedly sold out within hours.
The front cover of the magazine depicted a comical, Prophet Mohammed, tearfully holding a sign that said “Je suis Charlie,” and it carried the headline: “All is forgiven“. On Golden Icons, we are not showing the full cover, as many deem it offensive and derogatory, so we have to learn how to be sensitive to all religion, race, and sex. At the same time, we whole heartedly love, respect, and do appreciate the freedom of speech being promoted and excised.
This issue is being called ‘the survivors edition”, an additional run of up to 2 million has been ordered while the initial release of 3 million is already sold out. It was reported that several people actually queued up to buy copies of the magazine in support of the satirical magazine’s weekly edition. According to SKY News, a woman that worked at a newspaper store said: “It was incredible. I had a queue of 60-70 people waiting for me when I opened.”…..”I’ve never seen anything like it. All my 450 copies were sold out in 15 minutes.”
