Hungarian music artist Mónika Juhász Miczura also known as Mitsou has filed a lawsuit against Jay-Z and Beyoncé, for an issue regarding the duo’s 2013 song “Drunk In Love”. The producers of the song, which includes Timbaland have also been sued. According to Mitsou, the song features her vocals and was used without her permission, E! news reports.
The suit was filed on Friday, in Manhattan Civil Court and it practically accused Beyoncé, Jay-Z and the producers for sampling and digitally editing the vocal parts from one of her traditional Roma folk songs that came out in 1995. The artist seeks to be compensated for the “irreparable harm and emotional distress caused by the blatantly unauthorized use of her voice for trade purposes.” The title of Mitsou’s song is “Bajba, Bajba Pélem” and the Hungarian musician recorded the track with her folk band Ando Drom almost 20 years ago.
The power music couple Jay or Bey, nor Timbaland have responded to this allegations.
