In a recent interview with People, Beyonce’s mom, Tina Knowles, opened up about her recent wedding to actor Richard Lawson and also revealed how Bey’s daughter, inspired her Grandma to start talking about tying the knot with the actor.
“[In September] we went on a boat with Beyoncé and Jay Z for her birthday, and when we came out one night dressed to go to dinner, Blue said, ‘Oh, y’all look beautiful. When are y’all getting married?” Knowles told the mag. “Richard said, ‘Oh, Blue, soon. Do you approve?’ And she said yes. That’s the first time we talked seriously about getting married.”
The couple got married seven months later, in a yacht ceremony at the Newport Beach, California, where Blue Ivy, possibly the cutest & youngest matchmaker alive, served as the flower girl.
