A lesson of ingratitude and pork barrel politics from the April 12 elections! It was reported by Daily Trust that a transformer donated to the Sabo community in Ibadan, Oyo State by gubernatorial candidate Sen. Teslim Folarin, a People Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, was removed after he lost. The electrical transformer was meant to be a gift to the community for their support in his gubernatorial quest and after the results of the poll came out the following day, Monday, April 13, the Senator probably felt the people of sabo were not loyal enough and he had to take back his gift.
The people of the Sabo may be showing their ingratitude to Folarin for the gift he offered to the community, while Senator Folarin may also be practicing pork barrel politics by giving gifts to the people so they will vote for him.
