Grammy Award Winner NE-YO is set to perform at MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA) 2015!
The Grammy award winner, NE-YO is set to storm the stage at the MAMA 2015 tagged KwaZulu-Natal 2015 which will hold in Durban, South Africa on the 18th of July, according to Variety!
NE-YO will reportedly be performing songs from his sixth album “Non Fiction” at the event and the R & B icon is very happy to perform in South Africa:
“I can’t wait for you to see what I have in store Durban! I hope you are ready because I am.”
NE-YO got into limelight in 2006 with his single “So Sick” and he has since won three Grammy awards cum releasing multiple singles.
“We are thrilled to have NE-YO join us in Durban. He’s an incredible artiste that will elevate the MAMA to new highs” said Bruce Gillmer, EVP of music, talent programming and events at Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN).
The Senior Vice President & Managing Director, Viacom International Media Network (VIMN), Alex Okosi revealed the excitement in having NE-YO perform in South Africa:
“We are very excited to welcome NE-YO to MAMA 2015 for his first ever performance in Durban. As a sensational live performer and truly accomplished R & B star, NE-YO is an all-round class act who will greatly complement the African performers on the show.”
The awards will recognize contemporary artistes across various categories and it will be broadcast on MTV channel and partnering stations on July 18 at 9pm
The award nominees has Nigerian hip-hop stars dominating 11 out of the 13 categories which totaled 70 nominees in total.
