A few days ago, popular Nollywood filmmaker ‘Charles Novia‘ took to his Twitter page to express his choice for the upcoming presidential election in February 2015 and stated the reasons why he would be voting for President Goodluck Jonathan.
“There are millions of people across the land who will vote to Re-elect GEJ. The opposition seem to have forgotten that. No landslides,” the Edo-state born movie maker said.
“I took my stand a couple of years ago and I still stand by it. No screaming one-sided narratives will change it. I vote based on convictions. He has never advocated for violence. Never. I vote for the pacifist rather than the aggressor. If for the freedom of speech GEJ has allowed, taking in insults quietly when others would have killed to silence such. I have taken that stand. It will not change. Those who will vote, will vote. I vote on the positives GEJ has given to our democracy. Those whose lives have been touched positively by his policies are in the millions as well. They don’t need to rant. Every Nigerian should take a stand. That is democracy. You should not be ashamed of your stand nor vote. GMB I really like. Honestly. And GEJ I love. No hate. Let’s just vote and await results and live in peace. We are all Nigerians. We love NGR.”
