Some of the world’s biggest superstars came together for the 2010 FIFA World Cup Kick-off Celebration Concert, which took place at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto, Johannesburg, South Africa on the eve of the opening game of the World Cup. The all-star lineup of performers included Alicia Keys, Angelique Kidjo, John Legend, The Black Eyed Peas, Hugh Masekela, Lira, K’NAAN, and Shakira, and other international stars. In addition to commemorating Africa’s first FIFA World Cup, the concert also was in support of the official FIFA charity, 20 Centres for 2010, which focuses on education, public health, and athletic training.
