The original Kokomaster himself, D’banj emerged winner of the 2015 MTV Africa Music Award (MAMA) Evolution award, beating other African artistes like Psquare, 2face Idibia, Fally Ipupa, Asa, and more to cart away the trophy!
In his acceptance speech, he surprising dedicated the award to his former partner and Nigeria’s leading producer and Mavin Records boss, Don Jazzy, saying:
‘I specially dedicate this award to my brother and former partner, Don Jazzy who told me he wanted me to become the youngest African living legend, God Bless you.’
