This is definitely a miracle! A 15 years old Nepalese boy, Pemba Lama was buried for 5 days under the rubble of a collapsed 9 story hotel where he worked, but miraculously survived and was found alive and still breathing.
He was pulled out with the help of the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) who are in Kathmandu for a humanitarian mission. The boy appeared unscathed and looked a bit frazzled amid a scene of utter chaos and destruction around him. The latest death toll from the earthquake is said to have exceeded 5,000 people.
Pemba recalled the incident, as reported by Los Angeles Times, that during the earthquake, he started rushing down the stairs of the hotel where he was working but could not make it to the ground floor as the concrete around him started collapsing.
The LAPD is working in conjunction with the Fairfax Fire Department of Virginia as members of the United States Agency for International Development Emergency Response team and they are using high-tech equipment and rescue dogs to search for remaining survivors as time continues to run out since last Saturday’s earthquake that devastated a wide track of the Himalayan region and triggered several massive avalanche in Mount Everest that also killed 3 Americans, including an Executive of Google doing mapping work on Everest on behalf of Google Earth.
