According to early reports just coming in, polling stations in Yobe, Borno and Gombe States were attacked this morning, 28th March and the terrorist group is striking fear in the heart of the citizens who turned out early at the polling units to perform their constitutional duties.
Two people were also reportedly killed at two polling units in Birin Bolawa and Birin Fulani in the Nafada district of Gombe state this morning by Boko Haram members.
It was reported that the terrorist group came to the stations in motorcycles and sprayed the stations brimming with early voters, with machine guns sparking widespread stampede.
Eyewitnesses at the stations told AFP that Boko Haram members shouted that they have warned the people to stay away and are are now making good their promise.
“We could hear the gunmen shouting, ‘Didn’t we warn you about staying away from (the) election?’”.
