The chief of Indonesian recovery operations, Henry Bambang Soelistyo recently announced in a communique that the black box from Air Asia flight QZ8501 that crashed into the Java sea while en route Singapore from Surabaya, Indonesia about two weeks ago had been found. The plane which vanished with 162 people on board, still has the bodies of most of those on the flight missing as only about 48 bodies have reportedly been retrieved so far. According to CNN reports, divers found the black box under the wreckage of the plane’s wing and bought to the surface, the crucial device that would unravel the mystery of the plane’s disappearance from the radar two weeks ago. In a more recent news, the cockpit voice recorder was reported to have been located as well. The voice recorder was however a little more complicated to retrieve because it was underneath thick debris.
The voice recorder provides a complete forensic timeline of everything that happened and is heavily utilized in comprehending the cause of the crash, however, both devices are very important in finding a clue to the mystery of the crash that have mystified aviation experts. Some blamed the disaster on bad weather, but experts have also pointed out that modern commercial plane are designed with state-of-the art technology to overcome bad weather.
