Late Saturday night, rapper Nicki Minaj directed Twitter andInstagram followers to a website where fans were treated to a remixof Beyonce’s hit, “Flawless.” Minaj, who has an album releasing this week, closes out the track.
If you don’t recognize the lyrics at the top of the track, you’re not alone. Toward the end of the first verse, Beyonce seems to make a reference to the now-famous elevator incident involving her younger sister, Solange, and her husband, Jay Z.
“Of course sometimes s**t goes down when there’s a billion dollars on an elevator,” she sings.
Those lyrics likely refer to an incident that took place at the Standard Hotel in New York City as the trio left a Met Gala after-party in May. In surveillance video initially obtained by TMZ, Solange kicks her brother-in-law multiple times before being restrained by another person.
