Arnold Schwarzenegger will soon step into Donald Trump’s shoes as he will host Celebrity Apprentice, but he apparently creates a boundary when it comes to talking about the GOP candidate’s politics.
The former governor of California left an interview with Australia’s Weekend Sunrise on Saturday after host Angela Cox asked him a question about Trump’s presidential campaign.
Schwarzenegger, who is in Australia for the promotion of his branded fitness events, including Arnold World Strongman Championships, recently gave his endorsement to Ohio Gov. John Kasich in a series of social media posts before joining the candidate at a rally in Columbus, Ohio.
“This is an interview that I only do about fitness and health, not about politics or my relationships,” he told the host before leaving the interview.
According to the NY post, Cox had also previosuly questioned Schwarzenegger about his marriage to Maria Shriver, which ended following his much publicized scandal in 2011, he had been in affair with the family’s housekeeper . He also avoided her question about how that scandal affected his public life, saying, “the important thing is that I continue with my work, and health and fitness is what really counts for me,” .
His team told the NY Post that Schwarzenegger didn’t “storm out” of the interview, but that Cox’s time was up and he had to leave.
“The journalist [Cox] was allocated five minutes and we ran over time, so we cut the interview short,” Schwarzenegger’s Australian publicist, Max Markson, told the NY Post. “I think she’s just trying to make a name for herself. She’s new on the show. Her line of questioning was inappropriate.”
