As some in Hollywood are celebrating anniversaries, others are announcing break ups. Country music singers, Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton have called it quits! The sad news was officially announced on Monday, Associated Press reported.
The two started their romance in 2005 when they met at Country Music Television show’s 100 Greatest Duets Concert. They dated for six years before Shelton popped the question in 2011.
The couple have been married for four years and have done so many duets together including their hit song “Over You”!
The couple’s representatives announced that this was not the future they envisioned, Associated Press reported. They further stated “It is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter.”
TMZ reported that Lambert broke down in tears at a performance in Wyoming when she sang the song, “The House that Built Me,” some days before the announcement. Apparently, the song was originally written for her ex-husband but he gave it to Miranda to record and it became a big hit for her.
The marriage has been officially ended by a judge on Monday, 20 July, TMZ reported.
