To engage in the usual April Fools’ day prank, a teenage girl, Hayleigh Mcbay, from Elgin, Scotland, jokingly dumped her boyfriend, David Clarke via WhatsApp with the words:
‘I don’t want to be with you any more. I am not happy.’
But the reply that the 17-year-old got from Clarke, wasn’t so pleasing as her boyfriend replied:
‘Thank God you said it first so I didn’t have to.’
In shock, Hayleigh wrote back:
‘What? What do you mean? So you don’t want to be with me?’
Shortly after, her boyfriend revealed that he was also playing an April Fools’ Day prank.
The screenshot of the conversation was uploaded to Twitter, with the caption: ‘Well, my April Fools’ backfired,’ and has been retweeted over 12,000 times, according to DailyMail UK.
