Houston witnessed an emotional and touching live stage performance themed ‘One Quiet Voice’, which was based on true life stories of several cancer patients. This live stage production was conceptualized and produced in Houston, Texas by Juliet Aguwa, a Breast Cancer Survivor herself, who dares to see a different future for her continent…. AFRICA. This production was directed and co-produced by award-winning director Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen.
One Quiet Voice is a bold effort to represent the plight of African women and other women of diverse races, cultures, religions and worldviews living in today’s world who have battled Breast Cancer.
The production featured Nollywood Actress Monalisa Chinda as the Narrator, multiple award-winning actress Stella Damasus, a Professor of Drama and Arts in Nigeria and the project manager for this production Dr. Ogechi Ekpe, Merlisa Determined, the 2013 GIAMA Screen Icon Search Winner Anita Chris, and three past GIAMA Screen Icon Search participants Queen Tane, Beverly Ukegbu and Praxy Wara.
