The upcoming new film “DRY” by Stephanie Okereke Linus won the Best Protagonist award at the Geena Davis and ARC Entertainment’s inaugural Bentonville Film Festival (BFF) in Arkansas, U.S. The Bentonville film festival which took place from May 5th to May 9th in Arkansas was hosted by Nick Cannon, and the film’s co-producer/editor Jane Lawalata picked up the award on behalf of Stephanie Linus.
Stephanie Linus’s shared her joy on winning the award on her personal blog “stephaniedaily” today, and said:
“This came as a complete surprise. I am excited and honored that the Bentonville Film Festival picked my film for a screening, let alone an award. I am looking forward to this film touching the hearts of many more and helping people take action to save the child bride. I am also hopeful that there will be more awards to come.”
The Bentonville Film Festival (BFF) was founded by Academy Award Winner Geena Davis and Trevor Drinkwater, and the star-studded event included celebrities and popular personalities such as: Robert De Niro, Nick Canon (host), Courteney Cox, Soleda O’Brien, Bruce Dern, Jeffrey Katzenberg, CEO of DreamWorks Animation, Rosie O’Donnell, Melissa Joan Hart and several others.
