Selma’s director, Ava DuVernay has already found the next movie she will be working on, and more importantly, she will be reuniting with David Oyelowo, the British actor and ‘Selma’ star on her next project, which she said she was “really, really excited” about.
At the London premiere of “Selma”, she told BANG Showbiz: “We just announced that we’re going to be making another film together. I’m really, really excited to talk about it. We’re thrilled [to be working together again].”
The 42-year old said that the next film she will be directing will be a “sweeping love story and complex murder mystery“, set in the scenery of devastation of “Hurricane Katrina“, the deadliest and most destructive hurricane that has ever hit the US and“Participant Media” will be in charge of the production. The filmmaker will write, produce and direct the movie that still remains untitled.
DuVernay added: “I’m thrilled to reunite with my Participant family on this project and fortunate to work again with the always exquisite David Oyelowo.” The director has previously worked with the production company on 2012’s “Middle of Nowhere”, also starring David Oyelowo. “The story we’re interested in will explore the complexities of intimate relationships within times of chaos, while also examining the chaos itself. I’m looking forward to the journey,” DuVernay added.
