Former President George H.W. Bush, 90 was reported to have been rushed to a Houston hospital in an ambulance after he experienced shortness of breath on Tuesday evening, Houston Chronicle reported. The visit to Houston’s Methodist Hospital was said to be a precautionary one, according to reports and the former president will be held there for observation.
The Father of former president George W. Bush has suffered several health problems in the last few years and is no longer able to walk unassisted. However, it was reported that he celebrated his 90th birthday while skydiving in Maine. According to ABC reports, he was taken to the hospital in 1991, while still president, when he had an irregular heartbeat, and was diagnosed with the thyroid condition ‘Graves Disease’. Also, in 2000, he was admitted to the hospital again after another irregular heartbeat experience. Recently in 2012, he had bronchitis and a chronic cough and ended up spending several weeks in the hospital.
The White House pool report confirmed that President Barack Obama had been made aware of Bush’s current situation, and he and the first lady, currently vacationing in Hawaii “send their good wishes to the former President and the entire Bush family during this holiday season.”
