An eight-year-old boy that was being illegally transported into Spain from Morocco in a suitcase was discovered in a botched smuggling attempt at a Spanish civil guard border security checkpoint between Morocco and Spain’s North African enclave on Thursday, according to a CNN report.
The boy who hails from Ivory Coast was reportedly tightly bundled up in a fetal position and survived several hours locked inside a suitcase.
Reports reveal that Police are still not sure how long the young boy was tucked inside the pink, medium-sized polyester suitcase for, but one thing for certain is that they have never seen this type of smuggling.
“He was shocked when we opened the suitcase to see so many people looking at him,” the spokesman said. But the boy is in good condition, he said.
