30 Days In Atlanta, a Robert Peters film; a 2014 multiple-award winning flick that scooped away several awards at the recently concluded GIAMA broke the Nollywood box office record this week with N76 million, earning it the title of ‘Nollywood’s Highest Grossing Cinema Movie of all time‘. This announcement was made by Guy Bruce, the Director, Silverbird Distribution Company at a special reception held earlier in the week to celebrate the Cast and Crew of the Movie at the Silverbird Galleria, Nigeria. “That it is N76 million is quite impressive for a Nollywood film, and we are so proud of AY. We hope he does more movies”, Bruce said.

Several celebrity guests joined AY Makun to celebrate at the Silverbird Galleria including Ramsey Nouah, Desmond Elliot, Julius Agwu, Okey Bakassi, and a host of others.
“30 Days In Atlanta is still in the cinemas, and if we extrapolate our data judging by exit polling from cinema guests, performance and screen averages, the movie might well gross over N100 million after Christmas,” Moses Babatope, Executive Director of Filmhouse Cinemas said.
“What else can I add?” AY said. I will just say ‘thank you’, to God; to the cast, to the crew, and those who go to the cinemas to see 30 Days In Atlanta – this history is theirs.”
Considering that the movie has only been in the cinemas for 7 weeks and has surpassed Kunle Afolayan’s October 1st‘s 50 million naira hit, N57 million grossed by Ije in 2010 and Chimamanda Adichie’s N60 million grossed from Half Of A Yellow Sun, we cannot but commend the great work done by the cast and crew that produced this must-see movie ‘30 Days In Atlanta’.
