The South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley is a Republican and was strongly endorsed by the deeply conservative element within the party such as Mitt Romney (the former US Presidential candidate against Barrack Obama in 2012), Sarah Palin and most importantly the Tea Party wing that held the most extreme conservative views in America. The Republicans are also staunch supporter of the National Rifle Association of America (NRA) where all attempts for guns control are thwarted.
In the wake of the Charleston church massacre, President Barack Obama has reiterated again that this incident will not occur if the Republicans were not there to thwart the gun control legislation. To add insult to injury, the NRA has even suggested that the churches should be armed, leading to even more firearms’ procurement.
The slaying of 9 African American church congregants by Dylann Roof also led to a public outcry to remove the Confederate flag from the State public places and Governor Nikki has harped on the public opinion, calling for the ban of the Confederate flag even though she has been the Governor of South Carolina since 2011. Though, she has been Governor for 5 years and now in her second term, she only recently raised the issue and had never mentioned the symbolic meaning of the Confederate flag.
The video below by Redsilverj purportedly shows the Governor weeping before her address to the State and was seen as a weeping hoax to fleece the eyes of public that she empathizes with the victims’ families.
