Chicago Bull’s point guard, Derrick Rose has been dubbed the player that will restore Chicago Bull’s glory to what it once was when Michael Jordan played for the club. But, his frequent injuries during the last two years, have made the future of Chicago Bulls in winning a championship more bleak. When Derrick Rose tore the medial meniscus in his right knee in November 2013, longtime NBA followers got worried not only about the possibility of additional surgeries, but also about an athlete’s susceptibility for future tears.
Approximately 15 months from the initial tear, the most dreaded follow-up happened! Rose suffered another tear to his right meniscus again! According to reports, the degree of the recent tear is not as severe as the one he suffered in 2013. But, the unfortunate implication of this is that Rose may miss the rest of the season.
According to Jon Greenberg of ESPNChicago.com, Rose had a successful surgery on Friday morning, which was exciting news for the Bull’s fans. Although his rehab timetable is anticipated to be 4-6 weeks, Greenberg said that fans of Chicago Bulls are hoping to see Rose back in shape in time for the playoffs.
Derrick Rose is exactly what Chicago Bulls needs to claim a championship – a player raised in Chicago’s neighborhoods with a lot of passion for basketball. Everyone close to him admits he is strong enough to overcome this setback and bounce back once again as the basketball hero he deserves to be.
