Usher got the surprise of the century when President Barack and Michelle Obama sang a happy birthday song as he turned 37 while visiting the White House.
Usher was at the White House filming ‘In Performance at the White House,’ which according to promotional materials is an “all-star music tribute celebrating the cultural resonance of art and literature,” set to air next year on PBS.
While taking a moment to talk with the Obamas, Usher was surprised with a cupcake and a birthday serenade led by none other than the President of the United States.
Usher posted a video of the moment on his Facebook page saying, “So this really happened the other night…… The President and First Lady sang me Happy Birthday at The White House & I got to perform for them. I couldn’t be more grateful for this moment and all of the birthday wishes from everyone. THANK YOU!!!!! #Blessed#OlderWiser.”
Joining in the President-led birthday sing-along was Usher’s new wife, Grace Miguel. Last month, the couple secretly eloped after dating for several years. After keeping their marriage a secret for more than two weeks, they had elopement when pictures emerged of Usher wearing a wedding ring in Cuba.
