The Pentagon recently revealed that the price tag for fighting the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria since August last year has cost the national economy of the United States $2.7 billion so far, according to Time Magazine.
The average cost is about $9 million daily and the cost of air bombing, reconnaissance and other flights related to the air campaign alone gobble up to $5 million daily.
The breakdown of the expenditures is as follows:-
1) Special Operation Forces – $ 200 Million
2) Army – $274 million
3) Navy – $438 million
4) Payroll – $16 million
5) Munitions – $646 million
