Soon to be parents, Dave and Vanessa Watson were shocked to see their yet-to-be-born son Edward James Watson lift up his fist and punch himself in the face during an ultrasound. The baby was seen punching himself in the face so hard that he’s knocked backwards.
Vanessa Watson said she couldn’t believe her eyes.
“I was watching this and while I was watching this I was like, really, here,” she said.
Vanessa said the specialist told her and husband, Dave, that this was the first time in her 20 years of reading ultrasounds that she had seen something like this.
“When I went back to the doctor to get the results, I asked her if everything’s okay, we are really worried about the results,” Vanessa said. “Not going to have any concussion.”
Once assured that his son was in perfect healthy, the expectant dad, Dave said he posted the video of the 20-week scan online to show family and friends.
“Within two days we had articles in the Ukraine, Honduras, Italy, Telemundo,” he said. “He’s already more accomplished than I am.”
Although the attention has been unexpected and, at times, overwhelming, the first time soon-to-be parents say it’s been exciting to read the comments and speculate about what that punch may say about EJ’s personality.
“We love Ultimate Fighting, so we were just talking about that,” Vanessa said. “We were like, okay maybe he’s going to be some fighter of the UFC or some boxing guy.”
