A 6 foot 9 young brain and talent will forever be missed and loved. On his pathway to greater heights, this potential National Basketball Association (NBA) player, Tobi Oyedeji excelled with flying colors at the Bellaire High School where he was a star basketball player. He was also a Texas A&M basketball recruit with a few weeks away to joining the “Aggies” team and studying engineering at the nationally recognized college. This skillful power forward basketball player, an exceptionally well behaved child and an epitome of a perfect student-athlete was suddenly taken away from us by the jaws of death on the fateful Sunday morning following his prom night party.
Tobi was renowned for his prowess on the basketball court and excellent academic aptitude; a rare quality sought by many, but not easily attainable. You were a role model to many aspiring youths seeking to achieve success and fame in the basketball league. Even though you were an only child, you did not display any of the indecorous attributes sometimes exhibited by such kids. You had such a bright future ahead of you, and it’s not surprising that your great potential of becoming the next “Hakeem Olajuwon” of our time is being talked about today.
The reality of your passing away to higher glory came as a rude shock to all those who knew you, and even those who just heard about it were dumb-founded by the report of this incident. You achieved great deeds and made a huge impact on people during your lifetime; and as an elevated level of success was around the corner, death came knocking, that inevitable aspect of life, which no one has control over.
You are extremely loved by your friends and family; and even those who recently heard about you were touched by your noteworthy character. Although your departure from this world was early, but those unique, extraordinary and irreplaceable qualities of yours will give us a reason to celebrate your life, as one that stands out in the midst of many.Your physical presence with us will be greatly missed but we are rest assured that you are resting in the bosom of our God, and someday, we will all be reunited to enjoy immortality in Heaven.
You have conquered death, and even though you are no longer with us today, your loving memories, the virtues you stood for, and the passion you had for basketball will remain evergreen in our minds.
We love you, but God loves you more!!! Rest in Peace, our friend, brother and comrade.
