The Tanzanian housemate, Idris beat other top contenders, including Nigeria’s Tayo to emerge as the winner of Big Brother Africa 9 and the number one Hotshot. Idris is now $300 000 richer after being named the winner of the 2014 show following 63 days in the house.
The eviction of M’am Bea and Butterphly kicked off the much anticipated grand finale of the show and was followed by the eviction of JJ, Sipe, Macky2 and Nhlanhla.
The most memorable moment of the day was the arrival of Tayo and Idris in a limousine to hear the announcement on who will be crowned the Hotshot and eventually, Idris, the Tanzanian housemate, was declared the winner. This was not surprising to many based on the way he entertained Africa from his relationship with Goitse and Ellah.
