The Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) is one of the biggest oil and gas events in the world, where energy professionals meet to exchange ideas and share opinions on how to advance scientific and technical knowledge for offshore resources.
OTC has been taking place for over 20 years, and it brings together the best of the best in the oil and gas industry. And of the course, the giant of Africa, Nigeria, participates yearly at this conference! The focus this year for Nigerians in the Oil & Gas industry is Investment. The incoming administration has sparked everyone’s interest in joining the investment trend in the nation and the Nigeria Content Investment Forum (NCIF) that took place at the Houstonian Hotel on Monday, May 4, 2015 presented a highly detailed informative session on why it is imperative to do so now.
The collaboration of SweetCrude and TheGuardian ignited a platform that is expected to be an annual event during the OTC.
“This platform will heighten Nigeria’s yearly participation at the OTC”, said Sola Oyinlola, the Chairman of the event.
Oyinlola also noted the importance for Nigeria to expand their operations, innovate and adopt better technology for their businesses.
Overall, the NCIF wants to set a trend and adjust the shortcomings faced by the country. The key is to empower, educate, and create a stronger network during OTC.
