Shania Twain Recalls Experience on Losing Hubby to Her Best Friend: ‘I don’t see her, ever.. I Don’t Invite That Trigger Into My Life’
If you all recall, in 2008, Country singer Shania Twain was involved in a public split from husband Robert “Mutt” Lange, a separation that hit front-page headlines partly because Lange would eventually marry Twain’s best friend!
Although, it’s been almost seven years since the news broke, Twain recently recalled how devastating the experience was at the time.
“When that happened, I thought, ‘Forget it, this is more than I can handle—I’m never going to sing again,'” she told the New York Post. “I had to grieve through it.”
But as we all know, time can actually heal some wounds, and opening up about the experience in her book ‘From This Moment On’ released back in 2011 may have helped in dissipating the hurt!
Today, Twain describes her relationship with Lange as cordial, which she probably has to maintain considering that the ex-couple share a 13-year-old son together.
But, when it comes to her former best friend, the story is however different.
“I don’t see her, ever,” Twain told the publication. “I don’t invite that trigger into my life…She’s not my future—she’s not my past.”
