During a speech on civil rights for LGBT at the White House on Wednesday, 24th June, a transsexual heckler tried to interrupt his speech and had her removed from the room according to DailyMail,UK.
Jennicet Gutiérrez, a transsexual Mexican woman and campaigner, started yelling at the president to close deportation centers and according to the woman who invited Gutiérrez to the event as her plus-one, the heckling was pre-planned to raise awareness for immigrant transsexuals held in US detention centers.
The normally placid President Obama who has been heckled many times during his speech lost his patience by reminding Jennicet that she is in his house (the White House) feasting on the host’s food and wine and should show a modicum of respect to the host. He then had Jennicet ejected.
‘Hold on a second I – OK, you know what? No no no no no. You’re in my house.’
‘You know what? It’s not respectful when you get invited to somebody… [interruption] You’re not gonna get a good response from me by interrupting me like this. I’m sorry.
‘Shame on you! You shouldn’t be doing this… Can we escort this person out? Come on. You can either stay and be quiet, or we’ll have to take you out.’
He later continued by saying:
‘As a general rule, I am just fine with a few hecklers… But not when I’m up in the [White] House.
‘My attitude is, if you’re eating the hors d’oeuvres… and drinkin’ the booze… anyway, where was I?’
Jennicet Gutierrez and Angela Peoples then left the White House and Angela later told the press that it was all planned to raise awareness for the deplorable conditions of detained transsexuals in the immigration detention centers.
