Publisher “Putnam Books” under its children fantasy wing “Putnam Books For Young Readers” recently announced that singer Pharrell Williams has signed a deal to write 4 children books inspired by his hit song “Happy”. The books are expected to be available in September with a projected 250,000 copies in print that will feature photographs of children from around the world celebrating what it means to be happy.
The boyish American singer who is known for his Peter Pan look alike appeal and never seems to age by staying forever young has inspired more than a generation of followers, who are attracted to his genre of “youth, innocence and forever happy” type of characterization in music. However, the 41-year-old singer is not a child in the recording industry, having won 10 Grammy awards in his two decade long career in the industry, including 2 Grammy’s for “Happy”.
In 2010, Williams composed the soundtrack for the movie “Despicable Me” and the track became the most downloaded song in the UK for the year 2014 as reported in the Time.
