Female hip hop star, Nicki Minaj took to Twitter to share her sorrows following a tragic incident on Wednesday night, 18th of February when her manager De’ Von Pickett was stabbed to death and his friend Eric Parker critically injured following an altercation in a bar in Philadelphia. Both her manager and the other member of her team were in Philadelphia to prepare for her upcoming tour in Europe scheduled to begin next month.
“One was killed. They had only been there for two days rehearsing for the tour,” She continues. “Another senseless act of violence that took the life of a great guy.”
According to NBC 10, the argument began inside Che Bar & Grill in Philadelphia’s West Oak Lane neighborhood. “We believe that both of the victims, as well as the perpetrator, were all inside of this bar and that’s when an argument started,” said Chief inspector Scott Small. DailyMail.co.uk also confirmed that the argument began inside Che Bar & Grill and spilled outside where the fight began.
Trinidadian-born, New York-raised Minaj has emerged in recent years as one of the most acclaimed women in hip-hop, a genre often notorious for her machismo. Minaj has collaborated with superstars as diversed as Madonna and Justin Bieber. Her third studio album, “The Pinkprint,” was released last year and is full of autobiographical material, including a song about the trauma of a cousin’s violent death.
