According to New York Post, Osi Umenyiora has sued a male impostor who posted fake screen shots of intimate communication between both of them in an attempt to destroy the newly wedded couple’s day old marriage!
Umenyiora married former Miss Universe Leila Lopes on Friday, May 29th – click here if you missed it – and less than 24 hours later, an Instagram account @liesofmirrors claimed Osi was in an affair with ‘her.’
The newlyweds released a statement on Tuesday claiming the texts and screenshots were fake:
“We strongly condemn the vicious and malicious lies that have recently been perpetuated all over the media,” the couple said in the statement.
“We already know that these lies are a coordinated effort by a single unstable MALE source to malign and discredit an otherwise joyous and highly successful occasion. An appropriate legal recourse is currently in effect.”
“We are pleased to report that the expected result from this individual has been an abysmal failure. We are fortified, strong, and extremely happy. We look forward to a prosperous life together,” the couple’s statement said.
Umenyiora also took to Twitter to dispute the claim, while also stating that legal action has been taken against the “hateful man” behind the account, which has since been deactivated.
