The Senate President, Bukola Saraki tweeted about the N8 billion wardrobe allowance earlier in the day, a news that recently threw Nigeria’s Twittersphere into a frenzy.
Saraki explained in one of his tweets that the National Assembly does not have any responsibility regarding the allowances saying that the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation & Fiscal Commission handles that. He also clarified that the actual amount to be paid for the wardrobe allowance to each senator is N506,600 per senator, but we are not sure whether he was referring to this amount as a monthly or annual payment.
We guess more clarifications will follow after this initial set of tweets!
