Rachelle Graham, 24, a former Miss Newcastle and on and off girlfriend of Newcastle United player Papiss Cisse, 30, was left heartbroken when he told her he was going on a holiday back home in Senegal but was shocked to discover that he went to Paris to marry fellow Senegalese women volleyball team player, Diallo Awa, according to DailyMail,UK. According to the former beauty queen, she was given an impression by the Newcastle striker that he will be taking a month off to return to his home country and when she sent him text messages, he failed to respond and she went online but found wedding photos instead.
Miss Graham told The Sun and reported in DailyMail.UK : ” I’m hurt and disgusted to learn Papiss has got married without me knowing after we spent so much time together recently.”
‘But it’s his life and if this is what he has chosen to do there is nothing much I can do about it. I just wish he had the decency to tell me first.’
According to DailyMail.UK, she had to endure racism when her relationship with Papiss became public as a lot of racist abuses were hurled at her on social media for choosing a black as a boyfriend. Some of the social media abuses alleged that she took a black as boyfriend because she is money grubber considering he earned a whopping wage of 40,000 pounds per week as a professional footballer.
” Contrary to what a lot of you think I have never needed his money – I have my own thank you – and I did not date him because of his job and fame. “
” I dated him for the same reason most people date someone and anyone who knows me and Papiss will tell you that!”
” Now it’s time for me to move on with my life and he will do the same. Everything happens for a reason”
Cisse’s new wife is a Senegalese volleyball star and model who represents her national team and Stade Francais in Paris, where she lives. The striker who is a Muslim created a stir in 2013, when he refused to don the team’s sponsor, Wonga jersey because it conflicted with his religious belief. Wonga is a financial institution in the United Kingdom and the Islamic Sharia laws prohibited usury where lending money with an interest charged is deem ‘haram’ or illegal.
However, a photo emerged on Twitter showing him gambling inside a casino. Gambling is also prohibited by the Sharia laws. The striker later agreed to don the sponsor’s jersey after his photo at the casino surfaced.
