Do you all recall the story about Donald Trump’s outburst against Mexicans during his presidential candidacy announcement speech, (click here if you missed it), which then led NBCUniversal to cut ties with him in airing the Miss USA and Universe pageants (click here if you missed that too)? Well, it seems like many more asides former Miss USA co-host, Roselyn Sanchez are angry over the derogatory statements.
Cheryl Burke, a professional dancer and a co-host of the Miss USA pageant has announced that she will no longer continue with the show. She attributes her withdrawal to the statements Trump made about Mexicans and NBC news’ decision to cut ties with Trump.
Thomas Roberts, a co-host and NBC broadcaster, has also withdrawn from the Miss USA show. In a statement made by the spokesman for NBC, Brian Stelter, it was confirmed that Roberts would be pulling out of the event as well. However, reasons for his decision were not made known to the public.
Donald Trump’s outburst has indeed affected the Miss USA pageant as he owns quite a number of shares in the organization.
