According to USA Today, a massive fire that broke out atop a Las Vegas hotel on Saturday afternoon has been extinguished. The fire reportedly set ablaze the Cosmopolitan Hotel’s 14th floor outdoor pool deck, burning cabanas and artificial trees and vegetation, said Sandra Baker, Clark County Fire Department’s assistant fire chief.
Baker also confirmed that there were no burn victims, but two people were treated for smoke inhalation. One of those patients was transported to the hospital, she said.
Additionally, multiple floors of the hotel were evacuated due to the smoke, but there was only minimal damage to the building, namely some broken windows. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Baker said 35 units and 110 firefighters responded to the second-alarm fire.
