Late Super Eagles player, Rashidi Yekini, may have been long gone but there is no doubt that he still lives on in the hearts of many.
Yekini who during his lifetime scored 37 goals as a Nigerian international and representing the country in five major tournaments, including two World Cups, where he scored the country’s first-ever goal in the competition was recently remembered in Portugal, as his picture was put in a frame and taken round the stadium. A few months back however, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) paid tribute to the late Super Eagles great, who died on 2nd of May, 2012, at the age of 48 after a protracted illness.
We are sure that his name will never be deleted from the sands of history, as he will always be remembered for his great skills on the soccer pitch.
