The series of 6 shows at Sydney’s Allphones Arena was marked with a record-breaking attendance at the venue while her 23-date Australian Tour was attended by over 350.000 people in total, Billboard reveals. Not only has this been the most successful tour for this year in terms of numbers, but according to promoter Paul Dainty, they could have easily added another 12 stadium packed shows or even more!
As mentioned above, the Californian star’s 6 performances at Allphones Arena sold 89.500 tickets totally, beating the previous record that One Direction held since 2013 with 81.542 tickets, across 7 shows. For this achievement, the “Roar” hitmaker was presented with a plaque and a bike.
This amazing numbers, cap off what has been a great year for Katy Perry which saw the popstar hitting the charts with songs like “Dark Horse” and “This Is How We Do” and enjoying extraordinary tours for her latest best-selling album Prism.
