British royals, Kate Middleton and Prince William, have once again med headlines as a result of their lavish family ski vacation. Some of the surprising family pictures straight from the trip have surfaced on the internet. Prince William’s family, including his wife Kate, daughter Princess Charlotte and son Prince George, can be seen posing for photographs in a picturesque snow-laden backdrop.
While admirers around the world cannot help but be captivated by the mesmerizing photos, animal rights organization PETA has found something questionable in the photographs. The pictures which feature the Duchess of Cambridge, shows her wearing fur-lined ski gloves. PETA has expressed displeasure over the negligence shown by Middleton towards animal poaching and hunting as her gloves were reportedly lined with possum fur.
“If the gloves are indeed made of real fur, we’ll be contacting Kate, who we imagine is unaware that possums killed for their fur are often caught in bone-crushing steel-jaw traps. Animals who are not killed outright by these devices can endure horrific injuries and languish for days before eventually dying of hunger, thirst or blood loss,” the director of PETA U.K., Mimi Bekhechi, was quoted by E! News. She further shared a detailed account of the horrific process that is implemented to extract fur from animals.
“Some trapped animals, especially mothers desperate to return to their young, chew through their limbs in a frantic attempt to escape. Since so many humane, warm and fashionable fabrics are readily available, there’s no need to wear fur possum or otherwise,” Bekhechi added in her statement. Middleton may land in some serious troubles if the fur is confirmed to be real.
PETA has in the past slammed other celebs like reality TV star Kim Kardashian for her dolphin ride and even went to the extent of slamming President Barrack Obama for his stint on “Running Wild” with Bear Grylls.
