Kanye West will be spending more of his time in the recording studio in a bid to kick up his musical career. He revealed this in a new tweet on Saturday morning kanye tweeted his ambitious plan to release three albums per year.
“No more fashion calendar… I’m going Mad Max… 6 collections a year…3 albums a year,” he wrote.
The rapper has been very active on twitter after he released his album, The Life of Pablo, on Feb. 14. Very recently, West announced that he will no longer release physical albums.
“I was thinking about not making CDs ever again… Only streaming,” he Tweeted before referencing the cover art of his 2013 effort, Yeezus. “The Yeezus album packaging was an open casket to CDs r.i.p.”
He continued, “uuuuuuum, so there it is… No more CDs from me.”
According to Billboard, Def Jam and Universal Music Group were working with West on several possible release strategies for The Life of Pablo, and that a physical version was due.
West has only released eight studio albums in his 12 year career, so dropping three albums in one year would definitely be an unprecedented feat for the Chicago rapper.
If West keeps his word, then that would mean he’ll be dropping two more albums in 2016.
