Beautiful Ghanaian actress, Juliet Ibrahim recently unveiled a campaign with a beauty brand, Carotone in a bid to boost self confidence in women. The statement released by the brand reads:
‘The #loveyourselfgh is a strategic promo adapted by Nouvelle Parfumerie Gandour to eliminate that timid feel of not being beautiful. It therefore encourages all to feel sure of the abilities to do things and be successful.’
However, her numerous fans seem to be displeased with her for taking up an endorsement deal for a product that may not be a healthy choice for the skin. After the actress’s billboard advert of the alleged popular bleaching cream, Carotene, surfaced in Ghana, the 29-year-old light-skinned mother of one was even slammed further!
One of Juliet Ibrahim’s fans, Chris Vincent of Ghana Celebrities said regarding the billboard advert of Juliet Ibrahim:
“It’s pathetic to come across a bleaching celebrity but for one to boldly become a poster girl for a bleaching cream; that is diabolical, insensitive and grossly callous—considering the fact that we have a large population of uneducated Ghanaians who would just buy these products for the mere fact Juliet Ibrahim is on there.
I don’t know how much they paid Juliet Ibrahim and I do not care to know—else, I would have asked her. However, I am offensively disappointment to see a mother of one, a well established name with several young followers having seemingly relegated her conscience into the gutters, for the sake of money.”
