The feud between rappers Lil Wayne and Birdman recently took an unexpected turn! If you recall, in April, we reported that unidentified assailants fired gunshots at Lil Wayne’s tour bus that was carrying the rapper and others in Atlanta, but, thankfully, no one was hurt. Later on, TMZ reported that the suspect in the shooting, Jimmy Carlton Winfrey has very close ties to Wayne’s rival, Young Thug and the shooting wasn’t just a random attack on a famous celebrity.Click here if you missed this too!
E! News has now obtained a legal indictment from June 25 against Jimmy Winfrey, which also names Birdman and Young Thug, saying Winfrey called cellphones linked to these rappers both before and after the gunfire.
The court documents, filed in Cob County, Georgia details 30 counts against Winfrey, including aggravated assault, possession of a firearm, criminal damage to property and violation of both the RICO Act and Street Gang Terrorism Prevention Act.
Birdman and Young Thug are however not facing charges.
Alos, according to E! News, the indictment opens by giving substantial background, first identifying Winfrey, Young Thug, Birdman and Lil Wayne as Blood gang members, and claiming that the defendant (Winfrey) is a high-ranking member in the Young Slime Life subset of the Bloods.
