Former New England Patriots player, Aaron Hernandez who is currently serving a life sentence for the murder of his friend Odin Lloyd was said to be involved in a prison related gang fight where he joined with another inmate to assault someone else, Fox News reports.
It was also reported that he was recently shipped off to a special Management Unit of the MCI – Shirley Souza Baronowski Correctional facility after the attack on another inmate.
“It was two-on-one, he was part of the two,” said one prison official, who spoke to ABC News on the condition of anonymity. Another second source said the inmate was beaten in his cell and that it appeared “gang-related.”
The source said that when he was taken to the special unit to be disciplined, they spotted a tattoo on him that indicated he had been inducted into the ‘Bloods’ gang.
25 years old Hernandez was released by the Patriots in June 2013 immediately after his arrest for the murder of Odin Lloyd, another semi-professional NFL player.
On May 15, 2014, Hernandez was indicted for the 2012 double homicide of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado in a drive by shooting at Boston area. He is scheduled to go back to court for the double murder charge.
