Country singer Dolly Parton is getting read to go on tour. This will be her biggest North American tour in 25 years, as she’ll play in more than 60 cities in Canada and the U.S. The singer made the announcement on Sunday.
“We’re so excited to get out there and see the fans again,” Parton wrote on her website. “I’m really looking forward to singing songs the fans have not heard in a while, as well as the hits, while debuting a few new ones off Pure & Simple.”
Tour dates are to be announced at a later time. Parton’s set-list will not only include hit songs but also combine new songs from her double-disc album Pure & Simple with Dolly’s Biggest Hits. She also plans to play songs that have not been heard live for decades.
Her successful biopic movie on NBC, Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors, attracted a network record of over 15 million viewers and was the most watched movie on network television in more than three years. Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors will be released on DVD May 3.
