We all thought Nigeria was on the brink of making history by electing the first ever female Governor, after earlier reports indicated the APC Gubernatorial candidate in Taraba state, Aisha Alhassan, was initially leading the polls during the general polls that took place on April 11. Unfortunately, recent reports confirmed that she lost the rerun of the governorship election to the PDP candidate, Darius Ishaku.
INEC has since declared Mr Ishaku the winner of the rerun election held on April 25th, who polled a total of 369, 318 votes while Aisha Alhassan had 275, 984.
