Belgian Eden Hazard who is currently a midfielder with Chelsea recently received the Player of the Year ‘PFA’ 2015 Award in London on Saturday, 25th April, according to Daily Mail, UK. The 24 years old has been a prolific player for Chelsea having scored 18 Premier League goals for the English club and has been voted the overall best player by his fellow professionals.
Barely twelve months ago, he won the Young Player of the Year Award and his rise in the professional football rating has been rapid. When asked about his reaction in winning the best PFA player for the year award, the Belgian was modest with the following statement:
“I don’t want to say ‘amazing’ because it is not finished yet – maybe amazing!”
“I started the season not to be the PFA player of the year but it was in my head – I want to be the best and I hope one day I can win a lot of trophies.”
“I just want to say thank you to the players who voted for me – it is always good to have an individual trophy but the most important thing is to win the league. I hope I can win a lot of trophies again – the most important is to win the league, without my team-mates I would not be here.”
The award took place at the Grosvenor Hotel, London.
