California State Assembly member Shannon Grove knows exactly why her state is in the middle of a severe drought, and she explained her theory last week at a banquet sponsored by the California ProLife Council. She blamed the drought on legalized abortion in the State, as reported by Huffington Post.
The California State lawmaker also says that at one time, Texas was facing similar drought and the weather started to change for the better when Governor Rick Perry came in and signed a bill that banned abortion after 20 weeks.
“Texas was in a long period of drought until Governor Perry signed the fetal pain bill,” she told the audience. “It rained that night. Now God has his hold on California.”
Grove was likely referring to House Bill 2, RH Reality Check noted, a Texas abortion bill banning abortions 20 weeks after fertilization, four weeks earlier than the standard set by Roe Vs Wade.
Shannon further elaborated on her theory on God’s retribution for legalizing abortion in her Facebook posting.
“I believe –and most Americans believe –that God’s hand is in the affairs of man, and certainly was in the formation of this country,” she wrote. “Is this drought caused by God? Nobody knows. But biblical history shows a consequence to man’s actions.”
